How to Create and Manage an Equity Plan (Options & RSU)
altshare enables companies to create and manage employees equity plans, vesting templates, and tax configurations - all in one centralized place.
Step 1: Configure the Equity Plan General Settings
Navigate to Equity Plans
Click ➕ New Equity Plan
- Under General Settings, enter the plan details:
- Equity plan name
- Board approval date
- Initial pool size
- Select ✔ the relevant award types included in the plan:
- Options
- RSUs
You may also choose whether:
- Return canceled Options/RSUs back to the pool
- Grant numbers will be automatically generated by Altshare
Add all company equity plans to ensure accurate tracking and reporting across the platform.
Step 2: Select or Create Vesting Schedule Templates
Assign the vesting schedules relevant to the company’s equity plan.
- Select an existing template
OR
- Click ➕ Create New Vesting Schedule
Configure vesting schedules according to the company’s approved equity plan terms.
Step 3: Select the Relevant Tax Plans
- Select the applicable tax tracks for the equity plan
Tax plan settings help ensure grants are categorized correctly for reporting and compliance purposes.
Step 4: Add Additional Information (Optional)
You may add supporting information such as:
- Sites
- Departments
- Sub departments
- Legal Entity
Once completed, click Save.
The equity plan will automatically be updated in the platform.
How to Manage Existing Equity Plans
To update an existing equity plan:
- Click the ⚙️ General Equity Settings button
- Edit the relevant plan settings as needed
Changes are reflected automatically across the platform.
