How to Add New Equity Awards / Grants
Altshare allows you to add equity awards and grants directly to the platform, including bulk upload from an Excel ledger.
Step 1: Upload the Grants Ledger
- Open the relevant tab according to the award status/type:
- Promised
- Grants
- Click the Upload File button
- Upload the company’s options grants ledger
Step 2: Map the Column Titles
After uploading the file, complete the column title mapping.
- Drag and select the relevant column titles from your uploaded file
- Assign each column to the matching field in Altshare
- Make sure all mandatory columns are mapped
You may also map additional optional columns if they appear in your ledger.
Please note:
Only once all mandatory columns are assigned, the awards will be considered granted.
If mandatory fields are missing, the awards will remain under Promised.
Step 3: Correct Upload Errors
If errors appear after the upload, review and correct them before completing the process.
Common fixes may include:
- Selecting the matching platform data
- Aligning names with the company’s existing equity plan data
- Correcting missing or invalid values
Step 4: Review the Uploaded Grants
Once all mandatory fields are mapped and all errors are corrected, the grants will be added to the platform.
The uploaded grants will then appear in the designated table:
- Promised table
Or
- Grants table, once all mandatory grant data is assigned
How to Manually Add a Grant or Promised Award
Altshare allows you to manually create individual grants or promised awards directly in the platform.
Step 1: Add a New Grant or Promised Award
- Navigate to the relevant tab:
- Promised
- Grants
- Click ➕ Add New Grant / Promised Award
Step 2: Select the Beneficiary
- Select the relevant beneficiary from the beneficiaries list OR Add a new beneficiary
Step 3: Enter the Grant Details
Insert all relevant grant information
Step 4: Add the Award
Once all required fields are completed:
- Review the grant details
- Click Add
The new grant or promised award will automatically appear in the relevant table.
