How to Manage the Cap Table by Date
The cap table in altshare is managed along a timeline, meaning the data displayed reflects the selected date at the top of the screen.
How It Works
By default, the platform displays the cap table as of:
- Today’s date, or
- The last published version
You can change the selected date to view the cap table as it appeared at any point in time.
To Adjust the Date
- Locate the date selector at the top of the screen
- Choose your desired date
Once updated, the cap table will automatically reflect the selected point in time.
What Updates When You Change the Date?
When you adjust the date, all related data updates accordingly, including:
- Fundraising rounds
- Shareholder holdings
- Option plan data
Why This Matters:
This feature allows you to analyze your company’s ownership and equity structure at any moment in its history - helping you track changes, model scenarios, and maintain full visibility over time.
How to Change the Cap Table Name
You can rename your cap table at any time to match your company’s naming conventions.
To Rename the Cap Table
- Click the cap table name in the top-left corner of the screen
- Click Edit
- Enter the new name
- Save your changes
Tip: Use clear and consistent naming (e.g., by date or version) to make it easier to track different cap table versions.
How to Navigate Between Drafts
You can switch between different draft versions to review or continue working on a specific version of your cap table.
To Navigate Between Draft Versions
- Open the Cap Table module
- Access the list of available draft versions
- Select the draft you want to view or edit
Important to Know
